Xpress Faith Columbia 2012 Artists
Local artists will appear throughout Columbia
several days prior to Xpress Faith Columbia. These local artists
will also be featured as pre-program musicians each night of
Xpress Faith Columbia.
Randy
Davis

Randy worked at Columbia Welding Company for 28 years with
his dad before acquiring a job as an electrician with Richland
County School District Two in 2007. He is happily married to
Lannette Davis and has shared a life with her for 29 years.
Randy and Lannette have two children, Amber and Trent, who along
with Lannette are in the teaching profession. Randy loves to
sing for his Lord and has been doing so for most of his life. He
has been blessed to be a member of Spring Valley Baptist Church
for two years. He sings in the choir as well as with the Praise
Team.
Morgan

Spring Valley High School, FCA
Morgan is a senior at Richland Northeast High School
who has always had a passion for music. In 7th grade, she
started to participate in the Youth Group Worship Band which
helped her cement her passion for praising God with her voice.
Morgan also plays the flute and piano – she hopes to learn
guitar soon! Morgan also sings in the church choir. In the fall,
Morgan hopes to attend either Winthrop University or Anderson
University and plans to major in Early Childhood Music
Education. Morgan knows that, no matter what she chooses to do
with her life, she will be living according to His plan.
Joy
Logan

Joy has worked for Computer Sciences Corporation as
a Business Analyst for 21 years. She has attended Spring Valley
Baptist Church for the last 3 ½ years and enjoys singing in the
choir there. Joy previously attended Washington Street United
Methodist Church where she was a soloist and directed children’s
choirs for several years. Joy grew up in North Dakota where she
received her BA degree in Music from Jamestown College. She came
to SC in 1988 for graduate school at USC. During that time she
performed with the USC School of Music and Columbia Lyric Opera
in productions of Cinderella, Cosi Fan Tutte and Hansel and
Gretel. Her prior musical theatre experience also includes roles
in Annie (Miss Hannigan), Showboat (Julie) and Annie Get Your
Gun (Annie Oakley). She has also performed as soloist with
various choral groups in the Columbia area over the last 20
years. Joy has two children, Basil (15) and Blair (11) Hawk, who
keep her very busy running to/from school, church and sporting
events. Her favorite pastime and mode of relaxation is sitting
at the piano and playing and singing beautiful music to glorify
God and entertain anyone that wants to listen, including the
family dog, Daizy.
Stuart
D.E. Ray

Wendy’s, 10002 Two Notch Road
Stewart is a native of Columbia, SC and a graduate of Spring
Valley High School. He is the Director of Bands at E.L. Wright
Middle School and Assistant Director of the Spring Valley High
School Viking Band. Stuart earned a Bachelor of Music with an
emphasis in instrumental music education and performance
certificate from USC in 2009. Stuart has assisted numerous
schools throughout the district in music. He is currently
looking to work on his master’s degree and maintains
professional affiliations with SC Band Director’s Association.
As a saxophone player, Stuart teaches privately and works as a
clinician. He has taught at various camps throughout the state,
including USC’s Summer Conservatory. Stuart and his wife,
Meghan, are active at Spring Valley including teaching Sunday
School and participating with the First Years Sunday School
Class.
Rhonda
Richardson

Community Room, Village at Sandhill
Rhonda has always had a love for music. After
graduating from Furman University with a degree in music
education, she taught elementary music in a number of schools
and also served as church accompanist in several churches
throughout SC. Rhonda has also directed children’s choirs and
hand bell groups and has participated in adult choirs and small
ensembles. Presently, she still enjoys teaching private piano
lessons and serving as accompanist for the senior adult choir at
Spring Valley Baptist Church. She and her husband, Steve, are
the proud parents of Logan and Lucas. |
